100 Day Writing Challenge Redo

Have you ever set a challenge for yourself and failed?

I did. I realized what my main obstacle was though, and I adjusted it.

Goals have to be realistic.

Because of the timing, mine was not.

Now that our hellish move is over, I can once again try again, starting today. Today I mark as Day 1 of my 100 day writing challenge. Every day I will write and post here on Medium.

But, goals also have to be flexible.

It is November, and the start of Nanowrimo. I’m going to attempt this as well, but if I don’t make it, I’m honestly okay with that. So, putting the two of these goals together, if I miss a post every once in a while, but I manage to write 1,700 words that day on my novel, I will consider that a success for the day.

Short Term Goals vs. Long Term Goals

It is important to have both short term and long term goals. With this challenge, my short term goal will be my daily goal. I need to get back into the habit of carving out some time in each day to sit and write. Even though the actual move is over, we still have 1,600 square feet of ‘stuff’ to now fit into 800 square feet of space still being renovated. We currently live in complete chaos that needs…
