5 Ways To Battle Inflation At The Grocery Store

As the U.S. gets crazier, it’s easy to find yourself overwhelmed with all the bad news and frustrated with all the rising prices. Instead of letting those emotions freeze you, take control of what you can.

For me, what I can control are the decisions I make which include what I buy at the grocery store, when I buy it, and why I buy it.

Make A Meal Plan

Normally when I would go to the grocery store, I’d wander the aisles trying to figure out what it was I wanted to make for dinner. Often I would see something that looked good, and I would buy it regardless of the price. Not only that, but as I was wandering around I’d see other items that looked good which would also make it into my cart.

By making a meal plan you shop with intentionality. For example, you know that Sunday you’re going to barbeque hamburgers, Monday night is chicken and wild rice soup, Tuesday is taco night, Wednesday is left over night, Thursday is pork chops, Friday is spaghetti, Saturday is barbecued chicken with a side.

You make your grocery list based on the ingredients needed to make those meals. Now, instead of making numerous trips to the store for hamburger meat, you can look at that list and know how many pounds you will need to get you through the entire week. Not only will…
