It’s hard to believe that an entire week of the new year has passed by and sits behind us. Every week, I like to look back and see if I’m on the right track.

My main goal for the year was to do something every single day to move forward towards my goals and I’m pleased to say that so far I have. Not a day has gone by that I haven’t done something to improve where I was the day before.

Now, to break it down per goal.

Try a new project every month. This past week I’ve picked out the project I want to work on. I’ve also done a little bit of research to see what supplies I was going to need in order to do it, and where I could get those supplies. I’ve saved the money for it so next week I need to go buy the few items I will need. I’m calling it a win.

Writing every day. I did not manage to do this. Have I failed? In December I didn’t write at all. Not a single word. During the first week of 2023 I managed to write 5 Medium posts. That’s a huge change from zero. Did I hit my goal perfectly? No, but it is still a win because I am doing my best and improving from where I was.

Write a short story. I wanted to write a short story each month. During the past week I’ve come up with my story idea and written a few paragraphs about what I want to happen. I haven’t started writing it yet, but I’ve done the pre-writing necessities so I’m ready to get started. That’s a win.

Increasing side-hustle income. Every single day I do something to work on this. This means increasing my interest earned, increasing my dividends earned, increasing the amount of eggs sold and trying to increase the amount I make on Medium. I can’t tell you how much research I’ve done as far as different stocks are concerned, and keeping track of where I stand. I’m way more active on Medium and interacting with the people I follow, and responding to those who contact me.

Get the garden started. I’m struggling with this. I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because last year’s was such a disaster. I did manage today to clear a path to the gate of the garden. It’s a small step, but it’s a start.
