Day 2: We Have Doors
Everything about this house needs a face lift, but one of the first things we needed were new doors.
The old ones are falling apart and are so warped, they wouldn’t even close all the way. The lock box that the realtor put on was a complete joke, because all you had to do was shove the door and it would swing right open.
The back door that leads out into the carport, although it worked, is old and we wanted to replace that one as well to help keep the cost of electricity down.
Day 2 was busy and still filled with excitement and anticipation. We got the third bedroom gutted, but one of the accomplishments that made things feel like we were actually making some progress was getting new doors hung. It was fun picking them out, and they fit our style.
The front door is not ornate, because we are pretty simple people. We don’t need much, but the living room is dark, so we chose one that would allow some light in. At the same time, we didn’t want to have to hang a curtain in case we wanted to block out the light, so we chose one with a built-in curtain.
