Do Not Pretend To Be Someone You Are Not
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a very nonjudgmental person. I don’t care if you live in a penthouse or an outhouse. Although, if it is an outhouse, I’m going to do whatever I can to help you move somewhere else. I mean, the stench of an outhouse is toxic!
With me, what you see is what you get.
I’m not going to pretend to be someone I’m not. Those who accept me are the ones that I want to stick around. The thing is, I expect the same from the people I’m close to.
If you tell me that you live in a house on a dead-end street way back in the woods with no neighbors, that’s what I’m going to expect when I come to visit you. You tell me stories of having a few friends over and having a huge bonfire in the backyard. I can picture it in my head.
So, when I go to visit you, and standing in your yard, I can see six other trailers, I’m a little confused. When I look at the fire pit (in your front yard) that is so small I can wrap my arms around it, I’m a bit pissed off.
Don’t tell me you live in a castle when you’re the one who digs the moat.
I don’t care what you do, or how you live. I care about whether or not your happy and cared for.
