Enjoy The Now
I woke up this morning and instantly felt the stress fill me as the minutes ticked by.
There’s so much to get done in a day, and when you have a full time job, things need to be scheduled around that.
My head started to pound and as I took my first sip of coffee, I came upon this picture and had a moment of clarity.
Yes, we all have things we want to accomplish, and yes, it takes hard work in order to succeed.
But, you if are completely miserable along the way, is it really going to be worth it?
I think that there is a line you have to balance between working hard and taking time for yourself. Yes, I have a lot to get done today, but for right now? I’m going to sit and enjoy my coffee.
Just doing this put me into a whole different mindset.
I took my coffee and settled down outside, away from the sight of the dirty dishes, the laptop calling my name, the pile of laundry needing to be folded. For a few minutes, it was just me and my creamy chocolatey coffee (yes, I add a sprinkle of hot cocoa mix to it).
I’ve never done meditation, but I imagine what I did to be somewhat similar. I sat there, eyes closed and just listened to my breathing. Birds twittered somewhere overhead and a rooster crowed. As a cool breeze brushed against my cheek, I…
