Family Time Has Been Worth Every Penny
Buying this property and completely renovating this old house has been endless and exhausting. For the past two and a half months, it has consumed every spare minute and penny we have.
My life has been spent working, going to the new house and working on it, driving back to the old house and cleaning and packing. I’ve hardly been sleeping. I wake up exhausted, and go to bed exhausted.
The other day, my husband, son, and I spent an hour clearing a path to the pecan tree on the property and hacked away at the surrounding forest that had sprung up over the past two decades.
My son had gone into the house to gather his things to go back to the old house, leaving me and my husband standing alone in the middle of our property.
I stood there for a moment, listening to the silence around us. It suddenly dawned on me, what this time was worth.
“Hey, Hon. If something were to happen tomorrow, and we had to sell this place for what we bought it for, it would still be worth it to me.”
He furrowed his brow and glanced over at the house. “If we sold it, we would be able to sell it for way more than we bought it for.”
