Freedom means different things to different people. It can also vary depending on what is going on in your life.
When my son enlisted in the United States Army, the first thing that would pop into my mind when I thought of freedom was sacrifice. Sacrifice from the enlisted men and women, sacrifice from their families.
I still feel that near and dear to my heart, but something over the past few months has changed in me.
We bought a house on five acres of property. For the first time in over a decade I feel content.

I can’t really explain it. It’s almost as though the urge to do this has had me chained down. Now that we own this property, every moment I’m home there is a sense of freedom that has been instilled in me.
I think it’s because everywhere I look, I see potential with nothing holding me back. If I look at the wall behind me, I picture how great it is going to look once we get some new paint on it. And there’s no one there to stop me. I can sit out in my carport in my pajamas while the rain is pouring down and don’t worry…
