Forcing Myself To Edit
As much as I love writing, I hate editing.
I print out my pages, grab my red pen, and then quickly find something else to do. The thought of making all the changes necessary does not sound like a fun job to me.
Posting new episodes on Kindle Vella is forcing me to do it. I have a publishing schedule I am sticking to, and in order to do that, each episode has to be edited.
This story has been sitting on my computer for years, waiting for the right time to come out and be read. I love the story line, and so far, the readers have been pleased. That is what is pushing me forward.
If it weren’t for Vella, Champlain Dreams might never have seen the light of day, and for that I am thankful. I don’t plan on making a ton of money off it in Vella, but by the time the last episode is posted, I can then plan on publishing the novel.
My biggest fear of publishing has been tackled, thanks to Kindle Vella. It’s the first step in a long journey. I’ve been wanting to self publish for years now but have been too afraid of little things like formatting, marketing, etc. Putting this story in Vella lets me dip my toe in the water before jumping in.
And the editing is getting done!
