I Fear 2022 Is Going To Be Bad
What I’m Doing To Fight Against The Food Shortage
I’m not going to get into the political side of things, but looking forward to the next year is a bit scary. Are you asking yourself, why?
Let me explain.
2021 was plagued with food shortages. Container ships are stuck floating out in open water, waiting for months to unload their cargo, while here in the United States, food prices are soaring due to inflation.
On top of that, the price of gas keeps increasing. What that means is the price of diesel is increasing. How does that affect food? The price of diesel correlates with the price of fertilizer. When farmers can’t afford to buy as much fertilizer for their crops, they either plant less, or expect lower yields per acre.
Right now, when I go to one of the larger grocery stores, trying to find a single slicing tomato, or peppers is almost impossible. Onions? I’m lucky if I can find some that aren’t going soft or moldy. Boxed food is just as bad. One purchase I got was full of bugs, and the next two times I went back there weren’t any to be found.
