I Had A Bad Feeling About 2022…
Inflation Hits Home
Watching the news is horrible these days. I end up torn between wanting to scream at the television, or run to my bed and dive under the covers.
Let me start by saying, I love my country. I really do. It kills me to see it spiraling out of control. There are so many things I wish could happen, but know never will. I know I’m not alone in these feelings, and hope that one day, everyone will be brave enough to actually stand up and fight for what they want.
Let’s Talk Inflation
The latest numbers they spout on the news is 7% inflation. Really? Because what I see is WAY higher! Perhaps, I’m wrong, but here’s what I’ve noticed.
Last January, to fill my gas tank where I live cost me $23.88. Two days ago, I filled my tank and it cost me $42.60. That’s not 7%.
Groceries: All grocery prices have gone up, and I won’t go over each one, but here are three I’ve noticed:
My coffee creamer (the cheap kind) a year ago was $1.50 each. Now that same bottle of creamer is $2.75. A 5lb log of ground beef (the cheap kind) was $12.25 a year ago, but today, the same log is $16.63. A gallon of milk one year ago was $2.89. Today, that gallon of milk is $4.19.
