It’s Brain Dump Time

Getting all the ideas out of my head

I’m starting the 100 Day Writing Challenge today and I had a moment of anxiety hit me. What on earth was I going to write? I’ve had ideas run through my head every day and I knew it was time.

Time for a brain dump!

I spent an hour today making a list of all the different things I wanted to write about or story ideas. I got them all out of my head and onto paper and the anxiety flowed away. When I was done I looked over that list and was once again excited about what the next month would bring.

I used to do this often but have gotten out of the habit. The truth is I’ve had some awesome ideas for stories, and the next day when I try to remember what the idea was, poof…it was gone.

I also opened my Note app on my phone so that throughout the day, no matter where I am, I can jot it down on my phone.

Will I use all these ideas? Probably not.

Are all these ideas going to turn out fantastic? Probably not.

What I do know is that with my time limited, I need to use every moment productively. Now when it’s time to write I won’t be sitting there looking at a blank screen trying to figure out an idea to write about.
