Kindle Vella, I’m Giving You a Shot
Kindle Vella is a brand new program where writers can post serialized pieces for readers to read. The first three are free, and the others can be paid for with tokens that they purchase.
When someone asked me if I was going to write and post in Vella, my first answer was no.
Then I thought about it.
I’ve got 30 months left in my long term plan. That may seem like a lot of time, but in that time frame, not only do I need to save up enough to live off for a year, but I also have to pay my car off, and build up my side income to a certain amount.
So, the more I let the idea run around my head, the more I thought to myself, why not?
I already have a short story I’m planning on self publishing at the beginning of October, and the first in a novella series that I’ll self pub at the end of October.
My plan was to have something released every 28 days or so, following the rapid release structure.
I’ve got two novels that are written and edited. They both need to be edited once more, but they are just sitting there. One of them is about two-thirds done. While I’m working on everything why not use Vella to push myself to finish the one novel, and perhaps make a little money off it?
