Am I on The Right Track?

In July, my main goal was to merely do better than I did in June on Medium.

I wanted to keep it simple and knew that I would have to start somewhere. In order to hit my three year goal, one of the things I need to do is slowly start building up different streams of income.

Medium is one of those streams.

When I first started on here, I was making hundreds of dollars a month. Then, when they changed things up, that dropped to less than five dollars. You can imagine how discouraging that could be.

What did I do?

I basically stopped writing here. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to. I don’t write for the money, but it’s nice to have a little bit of incentive as well. The reason I kind of stopped was that because reader engagement for me disappeared. People weren’t highlighting as much, commenting as much. When a post would normally get hundreds of claps for me, now I was lucky to get five or ten.

I think my worst month I didn’t write a single thing and I made $1.54.

So, let’s talk numbers.

In June, I made $9.15. This was about four times what I made in May. I wrote 10 posts and made it a point to spend around 10 minutes a day reading other author’s posts.
