Talking About The Numbers

I’m sharing my numbers with everyone hoping that it helps someone along the line. We all love hearing the inspiring stories about people who have found success here. This story is about someone who is still striving to find that success, and although my numbers are bleak, hopefully they will improve.

On July 1st, I looked to see what I made here on Medium for the month of June.

$7.20

Seriously? That is about the worst I’ve done since I started writing on here. Disappointment coursed through me, but I knew that it was my fault that the number was so low.

For the month of June, I wrote a whopping 7 stories. In May I had done even worse and only wrote 5.

I’ve learned over the last couple of years that when you slack on Medium, it’s almost like you have to start all over. Sure, you have your followers, but they’ve moved on for the most part and you have to build it up all over again.

On July 1st, I made it my goal to write and post one story every day for the month. So, how did it go?

Well, I didn’t quite hit my goal, but I did manage to write 27 posts.

Halfway through the month, I finally started to see an increase in my reads. My original goal had been to get 20 a day. By…
