Medium in May

Let’s talk numbers!

I’ve been writing on Medium for a few years now and despite the changes, I’m not planning on stopping any time soon.

Like a lot of other writers here, I enjoy reading when others share their numbers that they’ve hit here. Some are huge, which gives the rest of us a glimmer of hope, while others are dismal which makes us question our strategies.

So, here are my numbers.

Yup. Not even enough to pay for a large coffee. Actually, not even a medium one.

Before you begin to lose hope though, let me explain some things.

Here on Medium, you get what you put into it.

Medium is a community of writers and readers. The writers write, the readers read, and there’s a percentage that do both.

By being part of the community, that means taking the time to not only write on a somewhat regular basis, but also to support other writers by reading their articles that sound interesting to you.

I have not been doing that.
