Medium Is Paying For My Son’s Groceries
With the pandemic running wild through the nation, millions of people are left in limbo. How will their bills get paid when they are out of work? How can they even pay for the essentials, such as food and electricity?
Two weeks before the Corona Virus took America hostage, my nineteen-year-old son bought a car and signed a lease for an apartment.
For the first time ever, he was getting on his own two feet by himself. He has a full time job that will pay for his bills, with enough left over for food and gas etc.
Then the pandemic hit.
His entire paycheck went to paying his rent and the remainder of the security deposit.
My job was shut down.
His work cut hours.
He called in a panic. He needed money for gas, and only had a case of Top Ramen and a box of cereal for food.
As a parent, it’s hard to watch your child struggle. Knowing that I only had one more paycheck coming and still had my own car payment to make, it really concerned me.
How was I going to help him?
And that’s when I remembered Medium.
This month I won’t make much, and that’s my own fault. I’m actually okay with it. I should clear $25.00. Not a whole lot!
