With the big change here on Medium, I’ve been very curious how it was going to affect me. So, let’s talk about the numbers!

Looking back at October for comparison, it is pretty dismal for me. I kept an open mind and tried to keep positive about it. I put forth more effort into Medium this month to see how these new changes worked.

In October, I wrote a whopping 5 stories. Yup, that was it. Along with that, I spent very little time reading other people’s stories or responding and interacting with other Medium writers.

I had 5,477 views and 897 reads. That led to me making $11.51.

I was really hoping that by keeping a positive attitude for the changes, and putting forth more effort during the month of November my numbers would be better. Were they?

In November, I wrote 23 stories. I spent nearly an hour each day I posted a story reading and interacting here on Medium. How did that change my numbers?

I had 1,645 views and 745 reads. I made $10.56.

Now, I write because I love to write, and nothing is going to stop me from writing. The question I ask myself though is, is the effort I put in here worth it for me?
