Morning Routines

I am not a morning person.

I never will be. If I could sleep until noon every day, I would.

At the beginning of the year, I put together a list of things I wanted to accomplish; goals I wanted to achieve.

In order to get those done, I needed to utilize as much time throughout my day as I possibly could. This meant that I would need to set an alarm every single day, regardless of my work schedule.

I won’t lie. Sometimes it really sucks.

I don’t like waking up. I don’t like getting out of my nice comfortable bed.

But, I have found that I absolutely love my new morning routine.

My alarm goes off at 6, and I go out and start the coffee. While it is brewing, I read on Medium. By the time it is ready, I’m half way through my reading. I relish my quiet time with my mug of caffeinated deliciousness. By the time my first cup of coffee is gone, it’s time to get to work.

I pour myself a second cup, and write a post on Medium.

By the time that is done, I’m awake and feeling productive.

By 9, my writing is done, my reading is done, my coffee is gone, and the rest of the day can move along with whatever life is going to throw at me.
