My Mother Is Losing Her Mind
I’ve been so focused on my son lately, that it has been hard to think about anything else; until this evening.
Let me back up a little.
Last Friday, I received a call from my son who is at Basic Training telling me that he had been in the hospital for a couple of days with what they think might be a hip stress fracture.
Of course it upsets me and worries me. The first thing I do? I call my own mom.
There’s just something about the comfort of a mom.
My mom and I are not super-close. I really wish we were, but we are close enough that if something happens, it is the comfort of my mom that I yearn for.
We had a ten minute conversation about what was going on with my son.
As always, she left me with the advice to “Lift it up to the Lord. Say some prayers, God is listening.”
A couple of days later she texted, asking for any updates on my son to which I responded no.
Then tonight I receive a text:
“Is Rhys hurt? I heard he might have a possible hip stress fracture?”
