We all have those days where our goal is to sit and write, and time is a little crunched. You force yourself to sit down for a few minutes and stare at the dreaded blinking cursor.

Now what?

Well, this is what recently happened to me, and I know I’m not the only one.

There are several solutions to this that you can choose from, but the easiest by far is to have multiple story ideas ready at your finger tips.

You know what I’m talking about. You go to get in the car and suddenly an idea for a story pops into your head. Perhaps you’re at the grocery store and pass by a complete stranger. Out of nowhere you are itching to write a story with a character based on this stranger.

The problem is, did you actually take the time to write yourself a little note to remind you later? Probably not.

There are numerous apps available to put on your phone to help you with this. I always keep my phone in my pocket and that way when a story idea arises, I can pull it out and jot down a sentence or two.

So, tonight, when I sat in front of my blank computer screen, wondering what to write about, I remembered my app and pulled it up on my phone. Just in the last few days, I’ve already got a list of a dozen different story ideas to choose from.
