I’ve got a lot planned to accomplish next year, and so I started early getting my goals for next year ready.

It’s exciting thinking about a new year starting. The possibilities are endless. It’s a fresh start; a new beginning. So, when your mind is full of things you want to do, how do you get a plan in place?

Everyone has their own way of setting goals, organizing their thoughts. For me, it all has to to be done on paper.

This year, I made a list which I broke down into three categories: writing, personal, and projects. The personal category is the smallest and depends on the other two categories in order to achieve them.

Once I had that list written, I took a look at each item on the list and broke it down into monthly tasks. For example, on my projects list, there are about twenty-five projects I want to try out so each month, I need to pick two to work on. For writing, I know I want to finish my Vella story, publish three novels and three short stories/novellas. How long will it take in order to do that?

Once I had it broken down into monthly chunks, my next step is to break part of it down into weekly for the month of January. I’ve chosen the two projects I want to try out and work on, and I’ve decided what writing projects need to be edited and how much needs to be written.
