Quarantined! Day 3

Learning New Things, Teaching New Things

Today started with quiet coffee time with my husband. If only every day could start this way. We sat in the carport sipping our delicious beverage, staring out over the squash garden.

When he left for work, I debated on what I wanted to get done for the day. Staying busy and productive at home is the key for me to keep my sanity. After feeding and watering the chicks and chickens, I decided that today was going to be the day I built a new garden bed.

Problem was, I needed saws and tools in order to do so.

I had three options. Option #1, ask my neighbor to cut some boards for me (which quickly became not an option since I’m quarantined to the property by my family). Option #2, wait for my husband to get home from work and cut the boards for me. Problem with that was, he could be home in an hour, or ten hours and I didn’t want to wait. Option #3, figure out how to use the saws and tools on my own.

I sat there staring at the boards.

What would happen if my husband was no longer able to do the things I needed him to do?

What was I teaching my kids by always depending on him to get projects done?

Option #3 was the winner.
