Quarantined! Day 4
Using Everything We Have and Not Wasting
My day got off to a little bit of a rough start.
I went to go let the chickens out, and one flew out, straight into the door which bounced open and with seconds found freedom. I calmly walked it around the coop a few times before I finally went to get my husband to help me get her back in the coop.
Went to check on the chicks and they had completely dumped over their water container so I had quite the mess to clean up out of the brooder box.
The wind has picked up and it’s cloudy today. I wasn’t quite in the productive mood that I’ve been in lately, and I’m okay with that. I can take a day to rest, right?
But then I walked in the kitchen and looked over at the makeshift pantry shelves and saw a five pound bag of potatoes that hadn’t been opened and had sprouted. Normally, I would have just carried the bag to the trash and tossed it.
During this self-quarantine period, I want to experiment and try to learn as much as I can and get a little better about food security. I looked up some Youtube videos and came across this one:
