Starting To Adjust

Working in retail can be a real soul-sucker.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful to have this job. It is close to home, the pay is decent (not great), and it is allowing me to finally start saving some money.

There are many downfalls though. The hours suck, you’re constantly picking up after other people, and by the end of your shift your feet are throbbing.

The worst for me though is not having a set schedule.

One day I may work an early morning shift, the next day a super late shift. There are never two days off in a row, and the days you do get off are not consistent.

This has thrown me through a loop.

I’m finally, after a couple of weeks, starting to get adjusted. I’ve gotten way off track but hope to rectify that. I’ll talk about that though in my next post. Needless to say, I’ve been failing at my goals to write every day and read stories here on Medium.

I’ve missed this a lot. I’ve missed reading the stories from the people I follow. I feel as though even in just this short amount of time I’ve missed so much.

I have managed to get a few posts written. This latest one was distributed by curators which is always exciting:
