Staying Flexible With Goals
A few weeks ago, I gave myself a 100 Day Challenge. The challenge was to write and post every day for 100 days. Each month, whatever I made from Medium would be tacked on to my car payment to help pay it off quicker.
Well, life happens, and I had a feeling it would. We are in the process of moving and for almost two weeks had hardly any access to internet. On top of that, between work and moving, I had hardly any time to do anything else.
I started to get really down on myself. This was my challenge, and I was failing.
That got me started thinking though.
One of my friends went to school to be an architect. Her first step in any project was always to take a pencil to paper and sketch it out. I once asked her why she did that when she could easily do the same thing on a computer. Her response made me reconsider how I looked at mistakes.
“Once I see that I’ve made a mistake, I erase back to where I can get back on track. No matter how much I erase though, the marks always are slightly imprinted to remind me where I went wrong and not to do the same thing again.”
I thought of this as I looked back on my challenge. Where did I go wrong? What can I do to go back and do this challenge and find success?
