Struggling To Find New Routines

I recently started a new job which leads to more time at home. I thought it would be great!

What I’ve come to find out though, trying to set and stick to new routines is difficult.

With my new hours, I only have a couple free hours in the morning, and a few at night. Sounds great, right?

I’ve come to find out that in the morning, I need about an hour to wake up and get ready for work. That leaves me one hour free. When I know I have to get up and leave in an hour, I’ve found that I can’t get anything done. I don’t know if it’s a mental block that happens, or what. Perhaps my brain doesn’t want to get started on something that will have to be left incomplete? I don’t know.

In the evenings when I get home, I have several hours before I’m tired and need to go to bed. The problem with that is everyone is home. My husband wants to spend time with me and have conversations, my kids are always popping in and out. When there’s that many distractions, it’s as though my mind won’t focus on any type of writing project.

One of the problems I have is that I don’t have a designated writing space. My husband has his office, and I have two choices, either the couch or my bed. The couch isn’t comfortable, and the bed is. I need to somehow figure out how I can create a space large enough to fit a small…
