Taking Down The Princess Club — Part 2
The best local coffee shop was located in the center of historic downtown. I checked my watch and noticing I was late, hoped Tandy, my best friend, would already be standing in line when I arrived.
Cuppa Joe was nestled between a swanky boutique and an art gallery. Envy ran though me as I passed the boutique and the gorgeous dresses displayed in the window. I glanced down at my blouse and jeans and smiled. At least I was comfortable.
Just as I was reaching for the door of the coffee shop, it swung open and Audrey pushed past me with several shopping bags dangling from her arm. I gritted my teeth and stepped back to get out of her way.
With her phone held to her ear, she didn’t even glance at me as she strode past me. Her bags smacked against my legs and I suppressed the urge to kick it. Someone knocked against the window and I looked over to see Tandy inside holding up two mugs.
“I can’t believe what a bitch she is. You should have pushed her in front of a car.”
I wrapped my hands around the steaming mug. “God, I hate the Princess Club.”
