Throughout the neighborhood, what happened at number one-twenty-one kept the neighbors entertained. Christmas was the best time of year for the folks on Mulberry Lane to get a good laugh.

Cordelia heard the argument from her office and quickly moved into position, peering through the living room blinds. There they were, Candy and Ralph. From the looks of things, Candy had gone shopping and Ralph was not happy about it.

Sipping her coffee, Cordelia glanced from Candy and Ralph’s driveway to the house across the street, glimpsing Stella peering through her curtains. She smiled when Stella grinned, pointed at the couple arguing, and made the crazy motion next to her head.

After a moment of their raised voices, Ralph grabbed one of the bags and pulled out a Santa hat. He tossed it aside on the lawn, and reached back into the bag. Cordelia laughed as Candy attempted to grab the bag back. Ralph held it above her head out of reach.

The next thing he pulled out was a red lacy garter belt. Cordelia choked on a mouthful of coffee as he held it up in the air on a finger above Candy’s head. The little blonde pixie jumped up and down trying. but failing, to reach it.

Cordelia’s phone rang and she rushed to answer it.
