The Big Medium Change — Day 3
What adaptations do we need to make?
So the first few days of seeing what the change in Medium have brought to us are over, and now the question is, “What do we need to do in order to adapt to the new change?”
Having a Back Log
This is one of the biggest things I’ve noticed. I’ve been on Medium for a year or so, and I’ve written hundreds of posts. I don’t have a niche, and write from the heart over a host of different topics.
In the past, that hasn’t helped me, but I write for myself not for the money (although the money definitely is a great bonus). But, regardless, those posts are still out there for the world to see.
What I’ve noticed is that the majority of the money I’ve made over the last few days comes from my back log of posts, not the posts I’ve written this week. Before the change, those reads were monetarily worthless, but not any more. Now, I earn money from people who happen across my stories and taken a minute or two to read them.
Getting Eyes On Your Posts
I’ve always known that this was important, but the change in Medium has highlighted what that means.
