The Garden Is a Bounty of Beauty
With everything going on in our country today, I’ve sworn to myself that I would surround myself with beauty and spread it as much as I can.
For me, the place that holds the most peace is my garden. What is crazy is that I must have started seeds for about twenty different kinds of flowers. The only ones that germinated were the sunflowers.
The pack of seeds, bought at Home Depot, contained a mixture and almost half of the seeds were broken. I was so disappointed I threw the seeds in one area and walked away thinking it would be a miracle if anything grew.
I am so glad that I did because the moment I walk out the back door, that yellow sunflower is the first thing I see.
Out by our water meter, suddenly this large bush started growing. We had other things to take care of, so we left it alone. After about a month, the bush was covered in white and purple blooms. It is a beautiful petunia that we found out our neighbor’s mother planted about forty years ago. Since then, the birds have carried off the seeds and we now have petunias growing in numerous random spots throughout the yard.
