Thinking Outside The Box: Blow Torching a Turkey?

I honestly kind of dreaded Thanksgiving this year. If only I had known how it would turn out.

The week before Thanksgiving I started craving a Thanksgiving dinner. The traditional kind for us includes turkey stuffing and mashed potatoes. I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it happen, but I was bound and determined to have my dinner.

Our house is still being renovated, and currently we do not have a working kitchen. It is gutted down to the studs with a make shift kitchen sink and counter top.

Our cooking utensils include a crock pot, an Instant Pot, a microwave and a barbecue outside. We make it work and will continue to do so for the next couple of months.

But, how do you cook a turkey using those four items?

I’d kind of given up hope and figured I’d have to later down the line have my dinner. But, my husband came to the rescue once again.

One of the things I love the most about him is that he is a problem solver. No matter what obstacles he encounters, he figures out a way to make it work.

He texted me: “I got a turkey.”

I responded: “Yay! How are you going to cook it?”

His response: “My blow torch.”
