Week 2 Is Off To A Great Start

Finding Balance

I was really looking forward to starting this new year off on the right foot. Instead, I spent almost the entire week in bed. But, today is the first day of the second week and I am on the mend.

I’m not saying I’m great, but I’m finally moving in the right direction. For the first time all year, all of my daily goals were met. I have hope back that I can get back on track.

It’s nice and easy to sit and encourage other people not to give up and to keep doing whatever they can to push through whatever life throws at them. It’s a struggle though to actually walk the walk.

I try to stay positive and when I first started not feeling well, I pushed it out of my head telling myself that I didn’t have time to be sick. My body disagreed. When your body starts to fight against you, you’ve got to pay attention.

As much as I wanted to continue fighting through it, I knew deep down that I needed to find balance. Personal health is important, and if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t ever achieve what it is you set out to do.

It’s hard for someone who is goal-oriented to stop and take a breath and watch those goals go unfinished. But, there are times that you need to think of it as those goals being paused while your body heals.
