Writing From The Heart
From the time I was very young, I have loved to read.
I never thought anything about it, but when I started writing, it seriously made me wonder. What was it about reading that I loved so much?
I love to get sucked into the story.
But it goes much deeper than that.
What is it that gets you sucked into the story?
Writing here on Medium, I’ve realized that it all centers around emotions. You can’t get sucked into a story unless it makes you feel something. Think back to the most memorable stories you can think of.
Did they make you laugh? Cry? Was it so suspenseful that you couldn’t put it down? Were you worried for the MC or were you cheering for them to succeed in their quest?
When I look back on some of the stories I’ve written myself, my favorite ones are those that I wrote from the heart. Some of them make me smile and laugh while others make me choke up and bring tears to my eyes.
This story was a hard one to write. I think I probably was in tears the entire time, but something made me feel as though I needed to share my journey with others:
